All year long, the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers battled for the AL West crown.
On the final day of the season, Dusty Baker’s Astros won their last game to clinch the division over Bruce Bochy’s Rangers who had an identical 90-72 record.
In the ALCS though, starting Sunday, Oct. 15 at Houston’s Minute Maid Park, those records reset to 0-0 as the interstate and interdivisional rivals compete for a chance to advance to the World Series.
“It’s going to be a test,” Astros outfielder Chas McCormick said. “We play these guys a lot, and that’s a good team over there, so we need to show up.”
And if you want to show up to witness the the Astros’ seventh ALCS berth in a row and the Rangers’ first since 2011 as well as a possible matchup between former Tigers and Mets teammates Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, you can grab tickets for all seven games in Houston and Arlington as soon as today.
At the time of publication, prices start at $147 before fees on Vivid Seats for Houston home games.

About the Astros-Rangers series
Over the 162-game season, the Astros and Rangers met 13 times.
Houston took nine of the 13 contests.
Still, anything can happen when it comes to October baseball.
“Now both of our teams, Texas and us, are pretty rested in our ‘pens and in our starting rotation,” Baker said. “It should be a heck of a series.”
