Observations from Thursday’s Giants practice:
Deep balls
Daniel Jones put together a solid day, hitting a few deep passes, with more than one going to Darius Slayton.
In one instance, the receiver got wide open down the sideline after a flea flicker, with Jones hitting him in stride.
Slow day
The Giants practiced without pads and at roughly three-quarters speed on the last day of camp.
That makes it tough to judge the defense, which had its best moments via a couple of Amani Oruwariye pass breakups, but the secondary seemed to be a step behind for much of the period.
Caught my eye
Mark Glowinski has taken occasional snaps at left guard, which Giants coach Brian Daboll said is a matter of contingency planning.
“It’s position flexibility,” he said. “If this guy goes down, where does this guy play?
“Has he ever played there? So you might as well do it now during camp.”
Injury report
Sterling Shepard and Dexter Lawrence both took rest days.
Nick McCloud and Cor’Dale Flott (abdominal) are both still considered day-to-day, Daboll said.
