The Washington Commanders could have taken Deonte Banks in this year’s NFL draft and the Giants cornerback made sure to remind everyone of that fact.
After the Giants’ 31-19 win over the Commanders, Banks took to Instagram live to talk some trash about the Landover, Maryland-based football team he had helped to just beat.
Banks had grown up in Maryland and played college football at the University of Maryland.
“They could’ve came and got me at [pick] 16, and they didn’t,” Banks said. “Now I’m 2-0 against you bum-ass boys. F–k the Commanders. They think they slick. They gonna see me two times a year until the end of my career.”
He added: “Shoulda came and got me.”

Much like the Giants, Banks has had some of his best moments this season against Washington.
The two wins against the Commanders make up a majority of the Giants’ wins this season and in their first meeting Banks recorded his first NFL interception.
On Sunday, Banks had three tackles for New York.
He also took the chance on Instagram to throw shade at Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin.
“Did 17 play today? That’s all I want to know,” Banks said, referring to McLaurin, who had five catches for 43 yards.
The Commanders used their 16th overall pick in April on corner Emmanuel Forbes instead of selecting Banks. The Giants eventually used the 24th overall pick to take Banks.
The rookie corner has gone on to appear in every game thus far for the Giants and played in 81 percent of their defensive snaps this season.
Forbes does have a higher player grade on Pro Football Focus at 47.9, while Banks has a 43.9 grade.
Sunday’s win over the Commanders was just the Giants’ third victory all season.
The only other team the Giants have beaten this season is the Arizona Cardinals back in Week 2.
