Giants’ Saquon Barkley out again vs. Dolphins with ankle injury


The wait for Saquon Barkley’s return continues.

The Giants’ star running back is inactive for the team’s Week 5 clash against the Dolphins in Miami, the third straight game he’s missed since suffering a high ankle sprain against the Cardinals in Week 2.

Barkley was listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report on Friday and participated in team drills during practice this week for the first time since the injury, and there was a bit of optimism he was nearing a return.

Instead, the Giants will again be without likely their best player as they look to keep pace with the Dolphins’ torrid offense.

The Giants have used backups Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell in Barkley’s absence, both of whom figure to see the bulk of the work again in Miami.
