Goosebumps Review | Clever Plotting and Justin Long Give YA Series a Bump



Revisiting Goosebumps after three decades is an odd affair if you grew up with the books and the '90s TV series. You're now in your 30s or 40s and realize that just about every book and episode is a Twilight Zone or Outer Limits rip-off, with the protagonists simply replaced by kids. It's not as scary anymore, and you don't remember the characters at all, just the gimmicks — masks, dolls, clocks. Unless you're stagnating in life due to arrested development and an addiction to nostalgia, it's kind of sad.
