Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo may be working on solo album

Infamously reclusive, the members of Daft Punk rarely give insight into their projects, and that silence has remained in the years since the duo’s split. This mystery has continued to capture fans’ attention, and new music from Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo may be on the horizon.

Whether donning their robot masks or not, the members of Daft Punk have always been comfortably quiet when it comes to sharing their plans or talking with the press. This silence makes anything they do all the more intriguing for fans, as their fanbase and lore continue to drive millions to stay devoted to their iconic career and output. Just a few days after a massive surprise appearance from Thomas Bangalter on stage alongside Fred again.., it seems the other half of the group may be preparing his own public return soon. In a recent interview, Emmanuel de Buretel, founder of Because Music, the French executive, appears to share details regarding new work from Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.

In the interview, delivered in French, de Buretel says, “Guy-Man fait son album,” which roughly translates to “Guy-Man is making his album.” Naturally, there is no further confirmation from the former Daft Punk producer, who has been less visible publicly since the dissolution of the duo. The interview is shared below, and the comment is mentioned at the 26:35 mark of the video. Much like the recent appearance on stage of Bangalter, fans will have to be patient and hope for an official confirmation from Guy-Manuel in the coming weeks.
