Jason Pierre-Paul signing with Saints in end to free agency journey


Jason Pierre-Paul’s search for a new team is over.

The former Giants defensive end, who played last season with the Ravens, told CBS NFL insider Josina Anderson that he plans to sign with the Saints. 

The 34-year-old Pierre-Paul, who was an unrestricted free agent this season, met with New Orleans on Monday and told Anderson his workout went well and he is headed to the Big Easy.

This will be the fourth team of the former All-Pro’s 13-year NFL career.

Pierre Paul has 94.5 career sacks, 127 tackles for loss, five interceptions, and 10 fumbles recovered in his career.

He played four games for the Ravens last season, recording 26 tackles and one interception.

Pierre-Paul joins a Saints team that is 5-5,  but still in first place in the NFC South despite a loss to the Vikings and Josh Dobbs on Sunday.

The first-round pick in 2010 began his career playing his first eight seasons with the Giants, winning the Super Bowl during the 2011 season – during which he was named to the Pro Bowl for the first of three time.

He was traded to the Buccaneers in 2018, spent four seasons in Tampa and won a Super Bowl in 2020.
