Jasson Dominguez became the latest casualty of this dreadful Yankee season, as the rookie was scratched from Sunday’s lineup with right elbow inflammation.
The 20-year-old has gotten off to an excellent start to his major league career, with four homers in his first seven games, while playing center field for a Yankee team that is looking to see who can help in 2024.
The switch-hitter has displayed impressive power from the left side and performed ably in center.
He was scheduled to hit third again Sunday before being removed shortly before the start of the game against the Brewers in The Bronx.
He was replaced in center by Isiah Kiner-Falefa, who had been in the lineup at third.
Kiner-Falefa hadn’t played since Sept. 1, having lost playing time to young outfielders like Dominguez, Everson Pereira and Oswaldo Cabera, as well as infielder Oswald Peraza.
