Jennifer Aniston refused to use intimacy coordinator for ‘awkward’ Jon Hamm sex scene

Jennifer Aniston is dishing on that infamous and raunchy Jon Hamm sex scene

Viewers of “The Morning Show” went wild in October when an episode of the AppleTV+ series, now in its third season, featured a steamy scene with Jennifer Aniston, 54, and Jon Hamm, 52.

In a new interview with Variety, Aniston opened up about the steamy moment with the “Mad Men” star.

“They asked us if we wanted an intimacy coordinator. I’m from the olden days, so I was like, ‘What does that mean?’” she said.

“They said, ‘Where someone asks you if you’re OK,’ and I’m like, ‘Please, this is awkward enough!’ We’re seasoned — we can figure this one out.”

Intimacy coordinators are becoming more commonplace in Hollywood. But, some actors from “the olden days,” as Aniston called herself, aren’t quite onboard with it, such as Aniston and “Game of Thrones” star Sean Bean, who also commented that it “ruins” the “natural” behavior of the moment.

During the interview Aniston also addressed her relationship with co-star Reese Witherspoon.

“We’ve been in each other’s lives for 20-something years. It’s just in our DNA that we are collaborators. We’re partners. We’re friends. We’re girlfriends, we share all sorts of heartbreaks in life and love and everything,” she told the outlet.

The show has not shied away from including real-world events such as the Jan. 6 insurrection, but when asked if next season will feature the Israel-Hamas war, Witherspoon said, “It has not come up.”

When asked if they agree with some viewers that the show is “camp,” Witherspoon said, “Like “Dynasty” campy? I don’t have a good perspective about that. I think we’re the wrong people to ask! I love ‘Dynasty.’ I love powerful women in great outfits having a verbal argument.”

Aniston said, “Give me some good ‘Below Deck Down Under.’ That’s all I can digest sometimes!”

Called “The Stanford Student,” the episode of “The Morning Show” with the Aniston and Hamm sex scene featured news anchor Alex Levy (Aniston) lying naked on top of tech billionaire Paul Mark (Hamm) after the two got intimate, following an intense interview.

“Jennifer Aniston hasn’t had an on-screen kiss like this since Ross and Rachel,” one viewer commented on social media, referring to Aniston’s role in the sitcom “Friends.”

“Okay. You win Jennifer Aniston. I’ll put collagen in my coffee if I can have a body like that,” wrote a second user, adding: “Damn, girl.”

“Who allowed Jennifer Aniston to be this naked in #TheMorningShow,” a third fan joked. “This lady ages like a fine wine and she’s gonna set me on fire.”

Aniston elaborated that she has been friendly with Jon Hamm before taking off their clothes on-screen together.

“That was fun. I’ve known the Hammanator for a long, long time. Jon was such a gentleman, always — I mean every move, every cut, ‘You OK?’”

Director and executive producer Mimi Leder told Variety about the scene, “It was a closed set, and two very grown-up actors who really understood the nature of the storytelling and were very much a part of it. We wanted it to be sensitive. We wanted it to be sexy. We wanted it to be adult. We wanted it to be emotional. They really let go.”
