Grading the Jets’ 32-6 loss to the Bills on Sunday.
Offense
The Jets did not have a play of 20 yards or more. They gained 155 total yards and went 0-for-11 on third down.
The best pass of the game was made by the punter.
It was that bad. QB Zach Wilson (7 of 15, 81 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 57.9 QB rating) was finally benched in favor of Tim Boyle (7 of 14, 33 yards, 1 INT, 26.5 rating) in the third quarter.
WR Garrett Wilson (2 catches, 9 yards, 1 fumble) was a nonfactor.
The banged up offensive line gave up five sacks.
Grade: F
Defense
This unit that has been carrying the Jets in recent weeks finally buckled.
The Bills, who fired their offensive coordinator on Tuesday, gained 393 yards, with 130 coming on the ground.
CB Sauce Gardner had his worst game as a pro, giving up an 81-yard touchdown and committing two penalties.
QB Josh Allen (20 of 32, 275 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 108.2 rating) got the best of the Jets’ defense for the first time in a while.
Grade: F
Special Teams
Xavier Gipson got things started Sunday with a fumble on the opening kickoff.
That set the tone for the game.
Punter Thomas Morstead did make the best throw of the day on his fake punt 18-yard completion to Brandin Echols. That might have been the highlight of the game.
Grade: D
Coaching
The season is spiraling out of control and the Jets’ coaches don’t seem to have any idea how to stop it.
The offense is broken and the defense showed cracks Sunday.
Robert Saleh has to find a way to stop the bleeding. Saleh benched Zach Wilson on Sunday, and now faces the decision on who to start on Friday against the Dolphins.
Nathaniel Hackett in the booth was just as bad as on the sideline.
Grade: F
