And just like that … Samantha is back.
And so is Annabelle Bronstein.
Kim Cattrall finally made her highly-anticipated, but very brief, return as Samantha Jones in the Season 2 finale of Max’s “And Just Like That,” delighting hundreds of fans on Thursday.
In the cameo, Samantha called her friend Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) to inform her that she had been delayed at Heathrow Airport, much to Carrie’s surprise.
“My flight’s three hours delayed, Carrie,” she said in an exasperated tone. “I won’t be able to make it there in time.”
Sitting in the back of a black town car dressed in a red outfit, a silver trench coat and a lime green purse, Samantha explained that she was making her way to the Big Apple after Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) told her about Bradshaw’s “last supper” in her old apartment.
A confused Carrie then asked her estranged friend why she was coming all the way to New York for a dinner party.
“Well, it is your apartment and I have to pay my respects,” she said over the phone.
“Thank you for everything you f–king fabulous, fabulous flat,” Samantha added, after demanding that Carrie put her on speakerphone.
Carrie then poked fun at Samantha, asking if she had developed a British accent.
That’s when Samantha said that she was Annabelle Bronstein, recalling a fan-favorite “Sex and the City” episode in which Cattrall’s character pretends to be a British woman to gain entry into the exclusive Soho House to use the pool. The memorable episode ends with Samantha getting busted by the tony hotel staff and storming off, faux British accent in tact.
“Who’s Samantha?” she said. “This is Annabelle Bronstein! Ta and Cheerio!”
Cattrall’s long-awaited cameo on the show caused several fans to shriek with glee.
“Dear @KimCattrall, THANK YOU!!! Three things in my life have been worth getting up at 3 a.m. to watch,” posted one fan on X (formerly Twitter). “The moon landing in 1969, Princess Diana’s wedding in 1981, and the return of #SamanthaJones RIGHT NOW!”
“Kim Cattrall literally came back just to give what the SATC/AJLT fans really want,” gushed a second person. “It feels so good to see Samantha Jones back on our screen even if it is just for a short time. I love this woman so badly she practically raised me.”
“The best 1 minute of our lives! QUEEN RETURNS AS SAMANTHA JONES,” squealed a third person.
Cattrall had initially refused to be on the “Sex and the City” reboot after the star expressed her displeasure regarding her characters’s storyline and called the spinoff “basically the third movie” of ‘SATC.’”
“Why can’t Samantha, who owns her PR company — maybe she had to sell it because of financial woes? 2008 was tough. Some people are still recovering. She had to sell it to some guy who’s wearing a hoodie, and that’s the dilemma she has,” slammed Cattrall. “I mean that’s a scenario that was kind of off the top of one of my reps’ heads, and I thought, ‘That’s a great idea.’ “
The TV icon also claims she was never invited to join the reboot.
“I was never asked to be part of the reboot,” Cattrall said in an exclusive interview with Variety. “I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media.”
In May, it was exclusively revealed to The Post that Samantha would indeed be returning.
An insider told The Post that show staffers were “definitely shocked, very intrigued on how they’re gonna write this in — and very excited.”
“The fact that they’re keeping it very hush-hush says that there’s some implication that she might be coming back — not this season, but it’s definitely a cliffhanger that’s gonna get people to come back for Season 3,” an insider told The Post of Cattrall’s cameo.
Since that statement, it was also announced the beloved spinoff will be returning for a third season though there is no indication if Cattrall is set to join the cast.
