It was a momentous day when King Charles was officially crowned as monarch of the United Kingdom during his once-in-a-generation coronation on May 6, 2023.
The next day, the celebrations continued with a concert at Windsor Castle with singers such as Lionel Richie and Katy Perry.
However, while Charles, 74, was spotted having loads of fun at the event, he apparently had one big regret.
According to the Mirror, Windsor’s parking supervisor Neil Walter claimed that the sovereign expressed his disappointment to him over his seating arrangement.
Charles had explained that he was upset over the fact that he was seated too far from the stage and he was unable to see much of the singers’ sets.
Walter noted: “He said next time he would like to be closer – or bring his binoculars.”
At the concert, Charles’ son Prince William graced the stage to make a sweet tribute speech to his dad, and also paid respects to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
Speaking out to a crowd of 20,000 people, William, 41, began by honoring the late monarch, who died in September at the age of 96.
“As my grandmother said, when she was crowned, coronations are a declaration of our hopes for the future, and I know she’s up there fondly keeping an eye on us, and she’d be a very proud mother,” the Duke of Cambridge said to a happy Charles and the jubilant audience at the time.
He said: “My father’s first words, on entering Westminster Abbey yesterday, were a pledge of service.”
“It was a pledge to continue to serve, because for over 50 years, in every corner of the UK, across the Commonwealth, and around the world, he has dedicated himself to serve others, both current and future generations, and those whose memory must not be neglected,” William added.
At the coronation, Charles was divinely crowned alongside wife, Queen Camilla, 75.
Many members of the royal family attended the illustrious event at Westminster Abbey, including Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Prince William, Kate Middleton as well as their kids Prince Louis, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, attended the event solo as his wife, Meghan Markle, stayed home in Montecito, Calif.
The Invictus Games founder only stayed in his homeland for 24 hours, jetting back to Los Angeles right after the ceremony so he wouldn’t miss his son Archie’s fourth birthday.
Before packing up his carry-on bag and heading to his British Airways flight, Harry reportedly spent just a half-hour at Buckingham Palace and didn’t attend the concert.
