Brittney Palmer is calling it a career as an UFC octagon girl after 16 years with the Dana White-led promotion.
The veteran ring girl announced her retirement while accepting the Ringcard Girl of the Year award at the World MMA Awards on Thursday, and said her final event will be UFC 296, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 16.
“Well, there’s no better time to say it. But after 16 years with UFC, I’ve decided to retire,” Palmer, 36, said while on stage at the Sahara Theatre in Las Vegas. “This weekend will be my last event, and I’m so, absolutely grateful for this unforgettable experience.
“I’ve traveled the world and met some incredible people, and I’ve met some lifelong friends. I will forever appreciate the memories and I am so excited for the future.
Palmer went on to thank the UFC, White and the fans “for this incredible honor.”
The model also shared her retirement announcement on her Instagram Story, and wrote, “Mic drop.”
Palmer reposted a photo with fellow ring girl Arianny Celeste, who attended the 2023 World MMA Awards.
Palmer became a fan favorite during her near two-decade run with UFC, and built a massive following of devoted UFC fans and beyond.
The host has 1.1 million followers on Instagram.
It’s unclear what Palmer will do next, in terms of her career.
In addition to being a UFC octagon girl, Palmer is also a model, host and designer.
The contemporary artist creates custom paintings, prints and murals, according to her Instagram page.
