Leonardo DiCaprio blasted for his ‘cringe’ rap at 49th birthday

Leonardo DiCaprio celebrated his 49th birthday over the weekend with a wild bash and a special rap performance.

The Oscar winner got his groove on and sang the words to the 1994 song “DWYCK” by Gang Starr and Nice & Smooth.

Once his catchy rap song made waves on social media, fans began to troll his “cringe” appearance.

On a Reddit thread, the clip went viral and people were wondering why he chose to sing at all.

“I can’t bring myself to turn on the sound button omg,” someone wrote on the post.

“The rapping is a bit cringe but who among us hasn’t delivered a less than stellar karaoke performance?” one asked.

Another chimed in: “This is…. interesting.”

But some fans slammed other users for mocking the “Titanic” star, saying that he should be allowed to have fun on his birthday and just “let loose.”

“I don’t find this cringe. It’s his birthday party. He’s having fun and everyone is enjoying themselves,” a person penned.

Someone else pointed out: “I don’t understand the problem? I would love to turn 49 in a room packed full of people who want to celebrate me and have a good time singing, rapping, dancing and acting a fool. He looks like he’s having a great time! Good for him.”

“I’m not a fan of him but I see nothing wrong with this video,” one added. “He’s just having fun.”

The exclusive event went down at a private residence in Hollywood on Saturday.

A slew of A-listers joined the “Inception” alum to celebrate his big day, including his current 25-year-old girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, Beyoncé, her husband Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek, Chris Rock, Kate Beckinsale and Kim Kardashian.

Beckinsale, 50, even gave a fashion homage to “Titanic” with her party lewk, sporting a minidress and a large blue gem necklace that looked like the Heart of the Ocean from the iconic 1997 romance film.

The oversized rock was pinned to the waist of her black cocktail frock and her neck was adorned with diamonds.

As for DiCaprio and Ceretti, the lovebirds were “affectionate and kissing throughout the night,” at the party, according to a People source. The pair began seeing each other earlier this summer.

Rapper Lil Wayne was reportedly also in attendance and rocked the house down with an electrifying concert.

“At one point everyone was singing classic hip hop,” the insider added, also noting that the “Killers of the Flower Moon” star’s friends even put him up into the air and “carried [him] around the room.”

Guests didn’t stumble out of the Gatsby-esque gathering until about 4 a.m.
