Lewis Capaldi discusses why track with Calvin Harris isn’t out


Calvin Harris has been responsible for some of the biggest hits not only in dance music but in pop music over the last decade or so. Of course, even a star like Harris can’t please everyone, and Lewis Capaldi reveals why his track with the producer will never be released.

With iconic hits such as Feel So Close, We Found Love, Sweet Nothing, and many more, having a track with Calvin Harris seems like a no-brainer for any artist. As evidenced by the recent controversy concerning his collaboration with Miley Cyrus, which the producer just confirmed will not see an official release. Having finished tracks that don’t see the light of day is not entirely uncommon, as schedules, marketing, contracts, and changing tastes cause many productions to be left without making their way to the public.

In a recent interview, Lewis Capaldi talked about his collaboration and why it will never be released. In the interview, Capaldi discusses how he avoids conflict, so much so that after two months of not responding to the producer, Harris sent a simple message, “Hate it?” Capaldi still didn’t respond, but he does reveal that his friends agreed that the track wasn’t worthy of release, and his love and respect for Calvin Harris remained high. He further shares that the two have crossed paths several times since writing the track, and he would still love to release a track with Harris, but has one caveat: Calvin Harris needs to sing on it as well!
