Lions send hilarious TikTok message to viral 31-pound baby

Now is no time for jokes in Detroit.

Or, so you’d think.

As Dan Campbell and the Lions prepare for the biggest game of the season, the social media team is hard at work scouting future talent.

And in baby Callum Peltzer, 6 months and 31 pounds — yes, you read that right — the franchise may have found a guard or tackle for years to come.

“Dibs” the Detroit Lions commented on a video of the baby posted to TikTok by his mother, Madison Peltzer, earlier this week.

Callum first went viral when Peltzer posted a video featuring audio from the movie “Instant Family.”

In the clip, as Peltzer spins around with her big newborn bundle, a little girl can be heard yelling about how: “Santa got me a fat Barbie! I wanted a skinny Barbie!”

“He’s in the 99th percentile for everything,” Peltzer wrote in the caption accompanying the video, which, as of Thursday night, had racked up more than 11 million views. “We love a chunky baby!!!”

So, too, do the Lions.

The post caught the attention of someone in Detroit, and the “dibs” comment has since gone mega viral.

“I saw the ‘dibs’ comment and I was cracking up,” Peltzer told the Daily Dot. “Down in the comments, someone said, ‘You better get that in writing.’”

As Peltzer shared in another video, Callum was 9 pounds, two ounces at birth, “but has just blown up in size.”

In basketball, they say you can’t teach reach.

And on the offensive line, they say you can’t teach size.

For Callum, then, the sky is the limit.

Perhaps one day, but not this Saturday (Callum isn’t even eating solid food yet — he’s hardly fit to start) when the Lions play host to the Commanders with a trip to the NFC championship game on the line.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
