He’s no longer alone.
Macaulay Culkin tearfully reunited with his “Home Alone” movie mom Catherine O’Hara Friday afternoon when he was honored with the 2,765th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The ceremony was emceed by president and CEO of Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Steve Nissen, with actresses Natasha Lyonne and O’Hara serving as guest speakers.
“‘Home Alone’ was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation,” the 69-year-old actress said in her speech at the podium. “[It’s] the reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving ‘Home Alone’ together is because of Macaulay Culkin.”
“I know you worked really hard,” O’Hara added. “I know you did, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do.”
The 43-year-old actor received his star in the category of Motion Pictures following an illustrious career that began when he made his big-screen debut in 1988’s “Rocket Gibraltar.”
Following appearances in 1989’s “See You in the Morning” and “Uncle Buck,” Culkin became a household name when he starred in 1990’s “Home Alone” and the sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” in 1992.
“Macaulay, congratulations,” O’Hara said in conclusion. “You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I’m so proud of you.”
Culkin’s star continued to rise and in 1991, at the age of 11, he starred as Thomas J. Sennett in “My Girl,” hosted “Saturday Night Live” and appeared in Michael Jackson’s video for “Black or White.”
He continued working throughout the nineties and appeared in films “The Good Son,” “The Pagemaster” and “Richie Rich” before taking a break from acting.
Also in attendance at the ceremony was Culkin’s fiancée Brenda Song, 34, and their two sons: Dakota, 2, and a baby boy born earlier this year, and his god daughter Paris Jackson.
During his acceptance speech, Culkin honored his fiancée Song and their children.
“I’d like to thank Brenda. You’re absolutely everything,” he said. “You’re the best person I’ve ever known.”
“And after the birth of our two boys, you’ve become one of my three favorite people,” he added.
“Macaulay Culkin has been a staple in pop culture for decades,” stated Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “He has an extensive trajectory of work but his movie, “Home Alone” is one of the most beloved holiday movies known the world over.”
“How fitting that Catherine O’Hara who played Macaulay’s mother in the film is reuniting with her movie son and will be speaking at the ceremony!” added Martinez.
Culkin most recently appeared in “American Horror Story: Installment 10” and in “The Righteous Gemstones,” and currently focuses on supporting charities such as the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and Stand Up to Cancer.
