This small town ain’t big enough for the both of them.
Maren Morris seemingly shaded fellow country music star Jason Aldean in her new music video.
The 33-year-old posted to Instagram on Thursday, a clip for a new song that apparently took a shot at the “She’s Country” singer, 46.
“I’m done filling a cup with a hole in the bottom,” Morris captioned the video.
In the post, the “My Church” crooner is seen lying down on the ground and she sees a sign that says: “Welcome to our perfect SMALL TOWN from sundown to sunset.”
The reference is alluded to Aldean’s controversial song, “Try That In A Small Town.”
Aldean’s single has been accused of being racist and having violent connotations.
Fans took to the Nashville native’s comments section and guffawed over her subtle and ingenious allusion.
“MAREN IN HER PETTY ERA I AM HERE FOR IT 🔥,” one person exclaimed.
Another person penned: “This small town is filled with shade. I love that for us 😂😂😂.”
One screamed: “EVERYONE REMAIN CALM, MAREN IS COMIN’ OUT SWINGIN’!!!!!”
“Maren Morris is a boss and a hero who isn’t afraid to be a bigger human and stand up against senseless bullies! 💛,” a fan chimed in.
The music video for “Try That In A Small Town” was pulled by CMT in July and Aldean defended himself amid the backlash from his song.
The music video featured footage from protests, including the Black Lives Matter demonstrations and branded him a “racist” and “violent bigot.”
“In the past 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests,” he wrote in a statement posted to his Instagram Story at the time.
“These references are not only meritless, but dangerous,” the father of four said.
Morris and Aldean have also had a rocky relationship in recent years, as she has also feuded with his wife, Brittany over their point of view on trans rights.
In August 2022, Morris slammed Brittany for sharing transphobic rhetoric on an Instagram reel.
“I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase,” the former cheerleader captioned a makeup video at the time. “I love this girly life.”
Morris then called her a “scumbag human” and “Insurrection Barbie” on X (formerly known as Twitter) last summer.
