Matt Ulrich’s wife, Alison, pens heartbreaking post after his death



The wife of former Colts offensive lineman Matt Ulrich has penned a heartbreaking message to the late Super Bowl champion, whose death at the age of 41 was announced on Wednesday.

In a message shared on social media, Alison Ulrich fondly remembered the late NFL pro, whom she called, “One of a kind.”

“Our beloved, one of a kind Matt has passed away and is in a better place,” Alison posted.

“Matt, we love you so so much. You are profoundly missed. We all want you back for just one more day. One more hug. One more kiss. One more laugh. One more joke. One more wrestle with the boys. It seems impossible to do this life without you.

“Please pray for peace and comfort for the boys. They have lost their greatest fan, coach and friend.”

Ulrich was a father of four sons.

A cause of death has not yet been revealed.

In the wake of the devastating news, an online fundraiser has been launched to help support Ulrich’s family.

More than $39,000 has been raised on the GiveSendGo platform as of Thursday morning.

“As a way for the community to support Alison, Gunther, Dalton, Bowden, and Thoreau as they navigate forward, this GiveSendGo campaign has been formed to help people get involved. All funds will go directly to the Ulrich boys. Thank you for the continued prayers, support, love, and lifting of their family,” the message of the online campaign read.

Undrafted out of Northwestern University in 2005, Ulrich signed with the Colts and played for the team from 2005-06.

He was part of the Colts team that defeated the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI in February 2007.

“I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich,” Colts owner Jim Irsay wrote Wednesday on X.

“Matt was with us only two seasons, but left his mark on many.  Great guy, I hear he was a great dad—and he was a Super Bowl champ. My prayers to his family.”
