Megan Thee Stallion speaks out after Tory Lanez sentencing

Megan Thee Stallion has finally spoken out after fellow rapper Tory Lanez was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison for shooting her.

“F— all my haters. None of the s—t you was doing or saying broke me,” Megan, whose legal name is Megan Pete, told her fans, often referred to as “hotties,” during a performance at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco on Sunday. “None of that s—t y’all was doing or saying to the hotties broke them.”

The Houston-raised rapper continued to the assembled crowd, “I want all the hotties to put they muthaf—kin’ middle finger up, right now.”

Lanez, a Canadian citizen whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, addressed his sentencing on Aug. 10, claiming he refuses to “apologize for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of.”

The 31-year-old “Say It” rapper was found guilty of shooting Megan in the feet when an argument broke out after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home in July of 2020.

“I have never let a hard time intimidate me. I will never never let no jail time eliminate me,” Lanez insisted in a long-winded Instagram statement.

“Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will.”

He continued: “This week in court I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved… that’s it.”

“In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of. I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do,” Lanez added.

Lanez, born in suburban Toronto, was initially charged in October 2020 with one felony count each of assault with a semi-automatic firearm (personal use of a firearm) and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

The couple were rumored to be dating at one point prior to the shooting. Megan initially denied having any intimate knowledge of Lanez, but changed her story during Lanez’ 2022 trial.

“If I could change it, I would but I can’t,” Lanez said at his sentencing, NBC News reported

“Everything I did that night, I take full responsibility,” added Lanez, who wore an orange jumpsuit.

“I truly am just trying to be a better person.”

In June, Megan claimed she was taking a break from the music industry to focus on “healing” from the legal battle against Lanez.

“Fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place,” the “Sweetest Pie” rapper told InStyle. “Right now, I’m focused on healing.”

“The music and entertainment industry can be a grind, so it’s important to take time off and avoid burning out. Life is all about balance,” she said.
