Mets non-tender Daniel Vogelbach after disappointing 2023 season

Daniel Vogelbach’s time with the Mets appears to be over.

The team decided to non-tender Daniel Vogelbach before the 8 p.m. deadline on Friday, which will make him a free agent, The Post’s Mike Puma reports.

The designated hitter was acquired by the Mets from the Pirates before the 2022 trade deadline, and he totaled an .830 OPS in 55 games in the second half of that season.

But this year, Vogelbach largely struggled with a .233/.339/.404 slash line with 13 homers and 48 RBIs.

The 30-year-old will now be free to sign with any team.

This is a developing story, please check back for updates.
