One Pint Willy is in good hands.
Prince William and his estranged brother, Prince Harry, may not see eye-to-eye anymore, but the Duke of Cambridge seems to have found another person to replace him.
William, 41, and his cousin Zara Tindall’s husband, Mike Tindall, have reportedly gotten closer as of late.
Zara, 42, who is the daughter of Princess Anne, married Tindall in 2011.
According to royal expert Rosa Silverman, the rugby player, 45, has become “the brother Prince William needs” amid Harry’s move to Montecito, Calif.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down as senior working members of the Firm in 2020.
Silverman wrote for the Telegraph how Tindall has “filled the void” of Harry’s absence, becoming someone that William can “confide” in.
Additionally, the sportsman is seen as an uncle-type figure to the Prince of Wales’ kids, Prince George, 10, Prince Louis, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 8.
Tindall was spotted having a sweet moment with George on Christmas Day while the royal family attended a church service at St Mary Magdalene at Sandringham.
The pair have been close for years, with Silverman also recalling their funny banter at William’s 27th birthday party in 2009.
“How’s it going baldy?” Tindall asked the future king at the time.
Willy quipped back: “What’s it to you, fatty?”
Tindall and William are both “pretty straight guys” who are “down to earth,” former Buckingham Palace press secretary Dickie Arbiter told the Telegraph.
“Put aside [William’s] role in state occasions, where he has to maintain a certain decorum; the rest of the time, if he goes to a rugby or football match he’s in there cheering with the rest of the fans,” Arbiter added.
“They are two peas from the same pod,” he continued. “They’ve just had different upbringings.”
Royal expert Hannah Furness added that Tindall has “managed to find the line between being fairly indiscreet but so charming with it that nobody minds in the slightest.”
“Even his high-risk turns on reality TV have ended up as an asset to the royals: if he likes them, the public senses, they must be all right,” she said.
Earlier this month, Tindall threw a hilarious dig at William on Rob Burrow’s podcast “Seven.”
Tindall revealed the nickname he gave to William when they go out drinking.
“He is known to me as ‘One Pint Willy’ because he is not the best of drinkers,” he mused.
“Coming from a sport where it is built on the social aspect and a couple of beers being sunk quite often. That is one I will give away for the Prince of Wales,” he went on. “Oh my God. It’s out there now. Sorry sir.”
