Miley Cyrus Recalls Beyoncé Rihanna Treating Her Like A Little Sister – VIBE.com

Miley Cyrus recently reflected on a time when she shared a special moment with Beyoncé and Rihanna

The “Wrecking Ball” crooner took to her TikTok, where she has a series called “Used To Be Young,” to share standout moments over the span of her career. Remembering the time she sang alongside the megastars for the 2008 Stand Up To Cancer event, Cyrus shared that the two singers treated her like “a little sister.”

“Here’s me sandwiched between Beyoncé and Rihanna,” she said as she flipped over an iPad showing the clip. “What I remember most from doing this performance is I was standing in between two of the biggest legends and icons that I was looking up to at the time, and they treated me like a little sister the entire time. They’re really sweet.”

At the time, the Hannah Montana star was reportedly 15 years old when she joined Beyoncé, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Fergie, Carrie Underwood, Nicole Scherzinger, Mary J. Blige, Leona Lewis, Keyshia Cole, Natasha Bedingfield, Ciara, and Ashanti to sing “Just Stand Up!”

“I got brackets on the back of my teeth and I’m singing with Beyoncé,” she added alluding to her young age at the time.

The Cancer special aired on live television on Sept. 5, 2008. Take a look at the collective of singers bellow out the charitable song below.

Miley — who began her career as a young actress — explored different genres of music since the onset of her music career.

Getting her real big break with the smash pop single, “Party In The U.S.A,” she quickly made her rounds to working with Hip-Hop stars including Juicy J, Fresh Montana, Timbaland, Ludacris, Lil Nas X, Nelly, Future, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, and more.

Since then, Miley has revisited her country-pop roots with tunes like “Used To Be Young,” “Jaded,” and “Flowers.”

In a 2019 cover story with Vanity Fair, Miley spoke on her eclectic range of music. “You know, in the same way I like to kind of just be genderless, I like feeling genre-less,” she stated.
