Miley Cyrus Sings ‘Flowers’ Live for the First Time & Debuts New Track in Private Performance Videos

Miley Cyrus has finally given “Flowers” its live debut, almost 10 months since it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The 30-year-old gave an intimate, invite-only performance at Los Angeles’ famed Chateau Marmont hotel on Tuesday night, and during her set, she also teased a brand-new song.

Cyrus took the stage dressed in a fitted black gown, engaging with the audience and providing funny ad libs to the track — “Match the roses that you left… now they’re dead!” and “Then remembered I… I don’t know how you guys can sing along while recording!” — during the performance.

Cyrus also performed a new song during the set. While the track does not yet have a title, she passionately sings, “Don’t know if it’s ever gonna stop/ I wouldn’t mind if it don’t/ Don’t leave me high/ Don’t let me down/ ‘Cause I want you more.”

It’s surprising that “Flowers” is just now getting its live debut, though Cyrus revealed back in May that she does not have any interest in touring at the moment. “I can’t,” she told British Vogue, calling stadium and arena performances “isolating” and “not natural.” “Not only ‘can’t’, because ‘can’t’ is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?”

She followed up her comments with a message posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on May 24, telling her fans she loves them despite not hitting the road. “Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart,” she wrote. “This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans & everything to do with I simply don’t want to get ready in a locker room, which is the reality of life on the road.”
