‘Monday Night Football’ props, bets: Eagles-Buccaneers, Rams-Bengals

There are two “Monday Night Football” games for the second week in a row, with the Eagles facing the Buccaneers and the Rams squaring off against the banged-up Bengals.

More football means more player props.

Here are my three favorite props for the two Monday night matchups.

Cade Otton Over 25.5 receiving yards (-117, BetRivers)

Most people aren’t running to bet Cade Otton props, but he has a great matchup Monday.

The Eagles have struggled to defend the tight ends early in the season, allowing 85.5 yards per game to the position.

That ranks 31st in the NFL, behind only the Lions.

In their first two games, the Eagles defense allowed three tight ends to go over this total.

Otton may not be one of the league’s best receiving tight ends, but he has shown some chemistry with Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Last week against the Bears, Otton caught all six of his targets for 41 yards.

Expect Philadelphia’s defense to focus on slowing down receiver Mike Evans. That should leave some open room in the middle of the field for Otton to haul in a few passes and go over this modest total.

Betting on the NFL?

Dallas Goedert to score TD (+250, FanDuel)

While Tampa Bay doesn’t give up a ton of yards to tight ends like Philly, it does allow 7.5 receptions per game on 10 targets. That gives me hope that Goedert can reach the end zone for the first time this season Monday night.

Goedert is off to a slow start, but he caught six of seven targets in his last game against Minnesota. He just didn’t go anywhere with those receptions. Goedert has a total of 22 receiving yards through two games, but for our purposes that’s not a big concern.

The Bucs have allowed 15 receptions on 18 targets to tight ends. That means the volume should be there for Goedert in this game, and I expect him to be a factor in the red zone.

He’s worth a shot at +230 to score his first touchdown of the year.

Don’t expect Tutu Atwell to continue his insane usage.

Tutu Atwell Under 55.5 receiving yards (-115 PointsBet)

Atwell has been a pleasant surprise for the Rams offense early in the year.

In his first two games, Atwell has totaled 119 and 77 receiving yards, respectively, so he should easily go over 56.5 on Monday night, right? Not so fast.

Atwell faced the Seahawks and 49ers in his first two games. Those defenses have both struggled to defend receivers early in the season.

The Seahawks give up the second-most yards to the receiver position and the 49ers allow the fourth-most.

The Bengals are a different animal.

Through two games, Cincinnati is giving up the ninth-fewest yards to receivers. The most yards the Bengals have allowed to a receiver is 63 to Nelson Agholor.

It’s tempting to take the over on Atwell after his first two outings, but I expect this game to be more of a defensive struggle where yards and points are at a premium.

Give me the Under on Atwell.
