There were plenty of noteworthy Taylor Swift moments from Sunday’s Chiefs-Patriots game at Gillette Stadium, but perhaps the one that stood out most was the pop megastar’s animated response to a play involving boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Swift, 34, appeared to fume in the second half when Patriots cornerback Myles Bryant made contact with the Chiefs tight end, also 34, in the end zone and there was no call.
Bryant, whose Patriots fell to the Chiefs, 27-17, saw the singer’s now-viral reaction and expressed how “cool” it is that Swift’s into the action.
“It’s a high-stakes game. People get real into it, so it’s cool,” the 25-year-old Bryant recently told People.
“It’s cool she’s into it.”
Sunday’s game marked Swift’s seventh Chiefs contest this season.
She sat in a suite with dad Scott Swift, who sweetly shared her birthday cake with neighboring spectators days after she turned 34, and new pal Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The “Cruel Summer” singer sported Chiefs gear for the contest, including a cozy beanie that featured Kelce’s 87 jersey number on it.
Swift and Kelce’s whirlwind romance has dominated headlines throughout the NFL season.
The two-time Super Bowl champion first expressed interest in Swift over the summer after he failed to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during her “Eras Tour” stop in Kansas City.
Swift got word of Kelce’s shoutout on his “New Heights” podcast and things quickly progressed from there.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she told Time as part of her Person of the Year cover story, which was published earlier this month.
“We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”
Swift attended her first Chiefs game on Sept. 24 at Arrowhead Stadium and sat in a suite with Kelce’s mom, Donna.
“I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” she shared.
Kelce, 34, and Swift stepped out publicly a month later.
