Interscope has a signed a partnership with Los CT, the record label launched by new regional Mexican music star Natanael Cano, a pioneer of the corrido tumbado movement. The deal will bring in Los CT artists Gabito Ballesteros, Alejandro Buelna, Tyan G, Amillkar Galaviz, Luis Castillo, Nueva Era, Cocho, Herencia LP and Delilah under the Interscope umbrella.
The pact does not include Cano himself, who continues to be signed by Rancho Humilde. Cano launched Los CT in 2022 along with his longtime manager and business partner Ramón Emilio Hernández. Among his young roster of artists, the best known is Ballesteros, whose hits include the single “AMG” with Cano and Peso Pluma, which peaked at No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ballesteros was named a Latin artist on the Rise by Billboard in July.
CT’s Interscope deal comes in the heels of a short-term distribution and marketing deal the rising label signed this February with Downtown Music Services. That deal will be absorbed by Interscope, who will step into the roles Downtown had for the past six months, including distribution of new releases going forward.
“For the last several years, Natanael Cano has shaped the future of corridos tumbados music with his own work and with the artists he’s signed and nurtured on his label,” said Nir Seroussi, Executive Vice President of Interscope. “We are so grateful that he and Emilio have brought these incredible artists to Interscope. We want to empower them by giving them all the tools they need to expand their audience and build long-term careers.”
“Nir, Manny [Manny Prado, Interscope’s West Coast VP of Marketing and A&R] and the entire team at Interscope are the perfect partners for us to collaborate with to create the best possible opportunities for our artists,” said Cano.
“Emilio and Nata have built a musical movement that is embodied in Los CT,” added Prado. “We’re thrilled to be working with them and this incredible roster of artists.”
