The New York Knicks look to capitalize off a big win in Atlanta on Wednesday as they travel to Washington, D.C. to face the Wizards on Friday night.
The Knicks are starting to warm up after a 2-4 start.
They have won four of the last five games after holding off the Hawks, 116-114, as short road NBA underdogs.
Julius Randle led the Knicks with 29 points, while Jalen Brunson knocked down six threes and scored 24 points.
Riding a four-game losing streak, Washington has slumped to a 2-9 record.
After blowing a 23-point lead in Monday’s 111-107 defeat at Toronto, the Wizards were run at home by the unrested Dallas Mavericks, 130-117, on Wednesday night.
In their last three home games, the Wizards have allowed 130, 124 and 126 points – all losses.
Each game has easily gone over the total, which includes two with totals listed at 240 or more.
Although the Knicks are known to not be a high-scoring juggernaut, New York has topped 116 points in three of its last four games.
Also, the Knicks are 3-0 to the over in the last three games when playing with at least one day of rest.
Betting on the NBA?
Last season, all four matchups between the Knicks and Wizards failed to surpass 227 points. Friday’s total: 227.5.
But this season, Washington’s defense has been abysmal (only three teams have a worse defensive rating) and New York can light the Wizards up.
Laying the points on the road here might be a bit much, so let’s take the over between these two teams.
Pick: Over 227.5 total points (-110, FanDuel)
