The New York Knicks have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA over the last two weeks, winning six of their last seven games after a 2-4 start.
They travel to the Twin Cities on Monday to face the surprising Minnesota Timberwolves, who are off to a Western Conference-best 9-3 start with impressive victories already over the Nuggets and Celtics and two against the Warriors.
Minnesota rallied past New Orleans for a 121-120 victory Saturday to close out a 4-1 road trip. However, the Timberwolves covered the spread only once, including three against the spread losses as a favorite.
New York finishes up its five-game road trip at Minnesota seeking a fourth-consecutive win. The Knicks won at Atlanta, Washington and Charlotte, while topping the 116-point mark in each victory.
Knicks vs. Timberwolves prediction
(8 p.m. ET. MSG)
On Sunday, New York got 32 points and eight assists from Jalen Brunson and 25 points from Donte DiVincenzo, who went 7-for-10 from three-point range.
DiVincenzo was filling in for regular starting wing Quentin Grimes.
With the Knicks having won two straight without Grimes, and with DiVincenzo’s immediate connection with Brunson, his teammate at Villanova, it remains to be seen if Grimes will get his starting job back when he returns.
Betting on the NBA?
In each of the past two visits to Minnesota, the Knicks have beaten the Timberwolves and each game finished under the total. However, the T-Wolves have won seven of the last 10 matchups in this series.
Minnesota owns a perfect 5-0 record at home this season while covering all five games at Target Center.
Although the Knicks are on fire, it’s hard to ignore Minnesota’s home success this season.
Pick: Timberwolves -2.5 (-112, FanDuel)
