It’s another obscure parlay win, this time thanks to the backup, tight ends.
Just two weeks after one bettor slammed Cade Otton and Cole Kmet to score two touchdowns and won over $10,000, another bettor targeted unknown backup tight ends.
Chargers backup Stone Smartt and Tommy Tremble, the Panthers’ No. 2 tight end, each scored a touchdwon on Sunday.
A bettor known on X as @LarryLocks8 parlayed the two to score, each at +700, with the odds coming in at 63/1 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
The $100 bet won $6,400.
Sometimes it is best to follow the injury news, as Smartt and Tremble were thrust into action after starters Gerald Everett and Hayden Hurst were injured.
Everett was questionable throughout the week and didn’t practice all week with a chest injury.
He was declared out late Friday.
Typically, Donald Parham would get the most of the looks for Los Angeles, but it was Smartt who received three targets, including an additional red zone look from quarterback Justin Herbert.
Smartt took a 51-yard pass the distance for an easy touchdown.
Meanwhile, for the Panthers, Tremble has been a bright spot for Carolina, which has one of the worst offenses in the league.
Tremble caught his third touchdown of the season despite the Panthers bringing in Hurst to take over the tight end spot in the offseason.
Betting on the NFL?
Hurst was ruled out on Friday due to a concussion.
Neither Carolina player was looked at as particularly likely to score a touchdown against the Cowboys defense, which is among the best in the NFL.
The Panthers offense came into Sunday 31st in DvOA ahead of only the Giants, while Dallas has the third-ranked defense behind only the Browns and Ravens.
Neither touchdown scorer contributed to a win for their team, but Tremble and Smartt helped this bettor win a firm $6,400.
