Patrick Mahomes made sure Travis Kelce scored TD for Taylor Swift

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has felt the pressure of playing in the Super Bowl, but he had a much more fanatical fanbase watching him on Sunday.

The Swifties.

The Chiefs QB joked after Kansas City’s dominating 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears that he felt pressure to get Travis Kelce the ball with pop icon Taylor Swift in the building at Arrowhead.

“I heard she was in the house,” Mahomes told Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews after the game. “I felt a little bit of pressure and so I knew I had to get it to Trav.”

Mahomes found the star tight end in the back of the end zone for a third-quarter touchdown pass to put the Chiefs up 41-0 at the time of the catch.

The touchdown is certain to be a memorable one for Kelce, not for his own play, but for the reaction from Swift in his suite.

The Fox cameras caught Swift cheering very animatedly after Kelce made the catch.

“Of course, it was on a route Travis, he does his own thing and just makes up a route and I throw it to him,” Mahomes continued. “I think he wanted to get in the end zone just as much as all the Swifties wanted him to.”

Rumors have been swirling around Kelce and Swift after it was reported that the pair had been “quietly hanging out” and exploded further this week.

An appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” only added fuel to the fire.

“I threw the ball in her court,” Kelce said. “I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead [Stadium], you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one is a little more lit. So, we’ll see what happens in the near future… Alright now.”

And then Swift’s appearance at Arrowhead turned Sunday’s blowout into a moment in pop culture history.
