Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Christmas card divides fans

It’s beginning to look a lot like diss-mas.

Royal fans are divided over the Christmas card Prince William and Kate Middleton, both 41, shared on social media on Saturday.

The photo captures the couple and their three kids — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — in white button-down shirts and dark pants.

“Our family Christmas card for 2023,” the couple wrote as a caption.

They said in a statement that they “are very pleased to share a new photograph of their family.”

“The photograph, which features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year, was taken by the photographer Josh Shinner earlier this year and shows The Prince and Princess with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in Windsor,” the statement continued.

Some fans were quick to compliment the family and note how the kids look so grown up.

“Prince George such a beautiful young man and Princess Charlotte is [unbelievably] nice. The small one lovely as always,” one person wrote on Instagram.

“Stop it right now! I remember when all these babies were born! Look how grown they are,” a second person gushed.

One fan even went so far as to declare that Charlotte looks like “a young Queen Elizabeth.”

Other comparisons were not so flattering.

“It’s giving JCPenney,” one social media user stated, adding that the family “are just like us.”

“Gotta love all the CHRISTMAS decor in the background,” a second user sarcastically spat, referring to the blank background. “Just screams Christmas all over.”

One Facebooker argued that they are “attempting to look like an everyday family.”

Agreeing with the comment, another user noted that “they are anything but an everyday family.”

A third person chimed in that “they will never be that.”

The release of the Wales family’s card coincides with the reveal of King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Christmas card, which features official portraits from Charles’ May coronation.

Taken by royal photographer Hugo Burnand, the photo depicts Charles, 75, and Camilla, 76, standing side by side in the Buckingham Palace Throne Room, with the monarch wearing the Imperial State Crown and Camilla donning the Queen Mary’s Crown.

The Christmas cards arrive as fallout continues from Omid Scobie’s bombshell new book, “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival,” which claims that Middleton and Charles were the royals who expressed concerns over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son’s skin color.

The palace has not responded to the allegations, while Scobie blamed a translation error in the Dutch edition. The book was temporarily removed from stores in the Netherlands.
