Stephen A. Smith compares Cowboys fans to ‘cockroaches’ in video

Stephen A. Smith got his wish when the Eagles beat the Cowboys in Philadelphia on Sunday.

The ESPN personality, who watched the action from a private suite at Lincoln Financial Field, had a good laugh while on a private plane after the home team’s 28-23 victory over their NFC East rivals.

“Since those Cowboys fans are like cockroaches,” Smith said after laughing hysterically into the camera. “A nuclear bomb can drop and some of them survived.

“I know that they didn’t want to see this video of me right now, and that’s why I made it.

“You thought you were going to do it,” he continued. “But then an offside penalty, another penalty, an incomplete pass and there you have it, you lost the game — and as a result and all likelihood, you lost your chances at the division crown.”

Smith — who was traveling to Savannah, Ga., where “First Take” was filming Monday’s show on location at Savannah State University — couldn’t pass up an opportunity to troll Cowboys faithful, which is a shtick he’s being doing for years on-air.

“How Bout Dem Cowboys,” he wrote in a post on X, including the video.

Prior to that, Smith shared another video celebrating Philadelphia’s 28-17 lead while hanging out with Eagles fans.

“It ain’t over yet, but it sure looks that way,” he said. “I kinda knew I needed to be here.”

During Monday’s installment of “First Take,” Smith praised Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott for a great game, while seemingly placing some blame on Dallas run game.

“I don’t think this is the day for me to say, ‘It’s on Dak,’” Smith said.

“I will tell you this, I don’t blame him. I thought that he played a great game. Dak Prescott stepped up and show what he is capable of.”

Smith questioned where Dallas’ running game was during the Week 9 matchup, and noted that back Tony Pollard hasn’t had a 100-yard rushing game since Week 3.

Prescott went 29 of 44 for 374 yards and three touchdowns on the road.

Shannon Sharpe, who joined ESPN’s “First Take” in September after his FS1 exit, explained why the Cowboys should be “discouraged” by the loss, despite Prescott playing well.

“These are the moments that we’ve asked Dak [Prescott] to rise in to the occasion in moments like this, against teams like this,” Sharpe said.

“… But we have yet to see Dak do this on a consistent basis — and this is why all the questions keep arising because when we’ve asked Dak to be at his absolute best, finish this day off, you had an outstanding day… finish it off with a game ending drive and now you control the division because you’ve gone to Philly and beat them in their own building.”

ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark said Smith didn’t get the “monumental fall” by Prescott that he was “waiting to see” Sunday.

“This is what we’ve been waiting on for Dak Prescott and if you’re Stephen A. Smith, you felt like you were going to get the monumental fall that you’re always waiting on,” Clark said on “Get Up” Monday morning.

“And you were just waiting to say, ‘See, I told you again, he’s throwing it to the other team — look at him again, that Eli Manning look on his face.’

“We didn’t get that from Dak Prescott. We got a player that showed he can be amongst the elite, so now the rest of the Dallas Cowboys need to step up and help get him there.”

The Cowboys dropped to 5-3 on the season after Sunday’s loss.

Dallas hosts the Giants on Nov. 12.
