Sub Focus returns with Contact, a 14-track album released via Casablanca Records. Although the producer introduced new ideas throughout recent years, he now brings everything together into a cohesive record that pushes his sound forward. Moreover, he strengthens the project with an extensive list of collaborators, including Grimes, Fireboy DML, John Summit, Katy B, IRAH, bbyclose, Poppy Baskcomb, Connie Constance, and Inez. Each guest adds character while keeping the focus firmly on his production identity.
As the album unfolds, Sub Focus moves between drum & bass, electro, trance and dancehall while keeping a tight, vocal-driven structure. Tracks such as “Entwined” with Grimes and “Original Don” with Fireboy DML highlight his sharp hooks and futuristic edge. Additionally, “Go Back” with John Summit continues its global momentum after already surpassing 151 million streams. His collaboration with Katy B on “Push The Tempo” earned him his first US dance radio chart-topper, marking another career milestone.
Beyond the music, Sub Focus shaped the creative direction for Contact alongside photographer Neil Krug and design studio Big Active. Together, they leaned into retro-futuristic concepts inspired by space-race aesthetics and NASA’s historic Voyager Golden Record, creating a visual world that complements the album’s forward-leaning approach.
The release of Contact crowns a defining year for Sub Focus, as he sold out London’s Alexandra Palace and L.A.’s Shrine with his Circular Sound show. Furthermore, as part of the WORSHIP collective, he became the first drum & bass act to headline and sell out Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
