The real reason Meghan Markle has cut ties with her old friends: expert

In addition to falling out with her father and half-sister, Meghan Markle has reportedly cut ties with multiple long-time friends, including childhood BFF Ninaki Priddy, Canadian socialite Jessica Mulroney and royal wedding guests David and Victoria Beckham.

But a relationship expert believes there’s a simple reason why the Duchess of Sussex has iced out old pals.

Relationship expert Kate Mansfield told the Mirror that Markle simply “outgrew” her old circle of friends as her tenure in the royal family likely created a change in values and goals. .

“People who value growth and personal development often grow out of friends and connections over the years, as they change to the point that they no longer have much in common with old friends,” Mansfield explained to the publication.

“This can be down to different values, lifestyle and interests,” the expert added. “All of which profoundly and most certainly apply to Meghan’s journey into becoming a royal.”

The former actress and her husband Prince Harry made the move to Montecito, Calif. from the United Kingdom in 2020.

Since then, they have cut ties with several of their former friends, including soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham.

Posh and Becks even made an appearance at the couple’s royal wedding in 2018 and were “very supportive” of Markle’s move to England at the time.

But the Sussexes allegedly accused the sports star and the Spice Girl of leaking stories about them, causing the end of their friendship.

A source told The Mail on Sunday last month that David, 48, is “absolutely bloody furious” after allegations supposedly occurred during a heated phone call between the Sussexes and the Beckhams.

“Any making up now is so unlikely,” the insider explained.

Meanwhile, Markle has also allegedly frozen out longtime pal Jessica Mulroney — who was also a guest at her wedding to Harry.

Mulroney’s relationship with Markle, who is biracial, became strained after she made a tone-deaf remark about “white privilege” in June 2020.

Page Six also reported that the Duchess of Sussex had already been upset with her former BFF at the time because she thought Mulroney was “benefitting” from exploiting their friendship.

Meanwhile, Markle is reportedly no longer on speaking terms with childhood pal Ninaki Priddy, who was her maid of honor at her first wedding to Trevor Engelson in 2011. The pair, who were like “sisters,” were friends for decades.

Markle was reportedly upset about her long-term pal also sharing stories with the press, promoting Priddy to say: “All I can say now is that I think Meghan was calculated – very calculated – in the way she handled people and relationships. She is very strategic in the way she cultivates circles of friends. Once she decides you’re not part of her life, she can be very cold. It’s this shutdown mechanism she has. There’s nothing to negotiate. She’s made her decision and that’s it.”

Now, Markle has a new circle of friends that purportedly includes mogul Victoria Jackson.

The “Suits” star was seen with more members of her new crew when she popped up in wellness entrepreneur Kadi Lee’s Instagram story this week.

Markle was seen smiling alongside Lee their other pal, poet and author Cleo Wade, while dining al fresco at a restaurant in California.
