Tom Brady and Peyton Manning’s playful rivalry can’t escape social media.
Manning’s recent travel debacle gave him yet another opportunity to poke fun at his fellow QB.
Manning’s appearance on ESPN’s “Pat McAfee Show” apparently caused quite the stir following his most recent flight debacle, compared to the life of luxury his rival, Tom Brady, lives in.
“I was on a Delta flight the other night,” Manning explained on ESPN’s “Pat McAfee Show. “I was in 36F. Has Tom [Brady] sat in 36F on a Delta flight?”
Manning’s less-than-desirable seating situation was a bit of a mixed bag for the 6-foot-5 Hall of Famer.
“They put me in an exit row Pat,” he said. “Which was great because of the leg room. But I swear the door was open. It was cold as I’ve ever been. I’ve played some cold weather games. I’ve been in Green Bay, played in New England.”
Brady responded to the clip posted to X, playing into the lighthearted rivalry.
“I’m sure the temperature was perfect. Peyton could never handle life outside the dome…” Brady wrote, jabbing at Manning who spent 1998-2010 with the Colts, playing in the covered RCA Dome and Lucas Oil Stadium.
It was the latest jab in a rivalry that turned playful once the combatants were off the field.
The two faced off seventeen times in their careers, with Brady, who won six Super Bowls during his 20-year stint with the Patriots, losing only six of them as a main tormentor of Manning’s.
Brady even attended Manning’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021 and got in a parting shot of sorts.
“I just need to make sure he’s really done. Can’t risk this guy coming back…” he posted to X.
Brady wasn’t the only one dismayed over Manning’s airplane complaints.
“I asked the flight attendant is there any, like a warmer blanket,” Manning said. “She was so disappointed that I was complaining about being cold she wouldn’t give me a blanket.”
The two-time Super Bowl winner did seem to get some sympathy from the likes of McAfee, Manning’s punter in Indianapolis from 2009-10.
“Always going to be tough,” McAfee said. “That’s old school football. 36F.”
