Tommy DeVito’s event cancelation reportedly starts pizzeria feud

The Tommy DeVito fairy tale now includes a spicy new chapter following Sunday’s Giants loss to the Saints.

Local pizzeria Coniglio’s Old Fashioned, which is located in Morristown, N.J., revealed Sunday on social media they will no longer host the Giants’ rookie quarterback Tuesday for an event, claiming they “received word from his agent that his appearance fee would be doubling” following Big Blue’s win over the Packers last Monday.

“No @tommydevito will NOT be @coniglios this Tuesday as originally planned. After last week’s win we received word from his agent that his appearance fee would be doubling (went from 10k to 20),” the message read on Instagram of the apparent $10,000 increase.

“We are a small family run business & decided $20,000 was a bit steep for 2 hours.”

The establishment apologized to the folks who may have purchased tickets, and added: “Sorry about that loss today #nygiants fans— but we’re Italian too & don’t like when someone says one thing & does another.”

In the wake of the apparent cancellation, DeVito’s agent Sean Stellato — who became a viral sensation during the Giants’ “Monday Night Football” win in Week 14 — addressed the matter.

“It’s a shame that the restaurant promoted that they would have Tommy when we didn’t have a signed contract. We didn’t raise the price because nothing was ever agreed to,” Stellato said, according to Darren Rovell.

Nino Coniglio, the owner of Coniglo’s, responded: “We agreed in principle to terms — 2 hours, 250 autographs and $10,000 and then the agent couldn’t be reached. He reached back out after Monday’s game to tell us the price was now $20,000,” via Rovell.

A screenshot of what appears to be a direct message between Coniglio and Stellato was also shared on Rovell’s X page.

The message that appears to be from Stellato read: “Ok. Please modify the agreement I think the 30 minutes over is something that going to have to run past Tommy….at 60/40 split might work….good on the 2hrs/10k/250.”

The original event was supposed to take place between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 19, when fans could get an autograph for $50, according to a graphic posted on a local Patch page.

The Hobby Hive in East Hanover, N.J., is currently advertising an event featuring Tommy Cutlets on Tuesday.

The fallout comes on the same weekend Stellato was inducted into the National Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame.

On Sunday, Stellato joined the DeVito family in New Orleans, where the Saints demolished the Giants, 24-6.

DeVito threw for 177 yards in the loss — which essentially crushed the Giants’ playoff hopes — and was sacked seven times.

The Giants (5-9) will visit their loathed rival Eagles (10-3) on Christmas Day next Monday.
