Tommy DeVito’s father questions Giants’ play call in loss to Cowboys

Tommy DeVito’s father, Tom, summed up pretty well Sunday how Giants fans feel about this inept Mike Kafka/Brian Daboll offense.

Fox cameras captured the elder DeVito seeming to mouth “That’s your fourth-and-3 play?” during the Giants’ embarrassing 49-17 beatdown by the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

Tom seemingly made the comment early in the second quarter when the Giants faced a fourth-and-2 at the Dallas 4-yard line while trailing, 7-0.

The Giants ran an RPO handoff to Saquon Barkley … which went nowhere.

Barkley didn’t stand a chance as the Cowboys swarmed him and held him to no gain.

Tom certainly wasn’t the only Big Blue fan to be stupefied by the basic play call that seemed to lack any type of element that would challenge the Cowboys’ defense.

Dallas then promptly went down the field in eight plays to grab a 14-0 lead and all but end the game considering the state of the Giants’ offensive attack.

While Tommy was not the reason the Giants lost, the third-string quarterback did not do much to help the cause Sunday in front of his family.

DeVito completed just 14 of 27 passes for two touchdowns and one interception, while adding seven rushes for 41 yards.

The Don Bosco product actually engineered a seven-play, 91-yard touchdown drive in the third quarter that sliced Dallas’ lead to 28-7, and also threw a touchdown in garbage time.

The Giants’ offense is compromised with DeVito leading the way, but the play-calling issue has lingered all season.

Following last year’s unexpected postseason berth, the Kafka/Daboll duo has produced the worst offense in the NFL in their sophomore season

The Giants rank last in the NFL with 259.2 yards per game and 11.8 points per game, and seem incapable of moving the ball at times.

Washington, one of the two teams the Giants have beaten, looms in Week 11.
