Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson had some clarifying to do.
The FOX Sports reporters, who are co-hosts of the “Calm Down with Erin and Charissa” podcast, were hyping up Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce on a recent episode and some thought the two were “throwing game.”
“Somebody tweeted us, and I don’t know if you saw it, being like, ‘Don’t be sad Travis, especially when you have Erin and Charissa throwing game at you,’” Andrews said. “We are not throwing game at him.”
“He’s like our brother at this point, my God,” Thompson added.
On Thursday’s episode of “Calm Down with Erin and Charissa,” Andrews made a public plea for pop star Taylor Swift to go on a date with Kelce after his attempt to give the singer a bracelet with his phone number on it failed.
“Taylor, I don’t know what you’re doing in your life right now besides rocking the world. Please, try our friend Travis,” Andrews said.
“He’s fantastic. I know we’re not the best of friends, we’re not even friends, but I consider you one. Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy.”
Kelce attended one of Swift’s “Eras Tour” shows in Kansas City last month and wanted to play into the concert’s tradition of trading bracelets before the show, but never got Swift’s attention.
“Do it for yourself, do it for us, and do it for the people. Because there is no one who would give you a better time than this guy,” Thompson said of the potential date.
The eight-time Pro Bowler joined his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce, on the “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce” podcast last month and discussed the unsuccessful attempt.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” TKelce said.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal, but it was an unbelievable show.”
