Erin Andrews spilled the tea about how some NFL WAGs are handling the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift craze.
In the latest installment of her “Calm Down” podcast with Charissa Thompson, the veteran Fox Sports sideline reporter recalled chatting about the whirlwind romance between the Chiefs tight end and superstar singer with the significant others of NFL players in Philadelphia, where she covered the Eagles-49ers game.
“I got a little intel this weekend from some WAGS out in Philly — not Eagles WAGs and I’m not saying they’re 49ers WAGS,” Andrews said. “I’m not going to tell you who they are.
“But some NFL WAGs … somebody asked in front of me what the gals on their team thought [about Taylor and Travis] and they were like, ‘Love it, adorable’ — and they were like, ‘You know why? Because that’s a man and she’s with him.’”
There was one detail that stuck with Andrews after her chat with the NFL WAGs.
“Here’s a good take from an NFL WAG which I loved,” the WEAR by EA founder gushed.
“She said this: ‘For the first time publicly it seems like she’s with a guy that’s not like ‘Oh yeah, I’m with Taylor, don’t take my picture. I’m at the concert.’”
Andrews did not share any names of the NFL WAGs she spoke with.
Andrews and Thompson, who also works as a host for Fox Sports and “Thursday Night Football” on Prime Video, shipped a romance between Kelce and Swift before the couple were first linked.
In August, Andrews and Thompson suggested on their “Calm Down” podcast that Swift give their “fantastic friend Travis a try” and “go on a date” with the All-Pro NFLer.
“Do it for America,” Andrews said at the time.
“Do it for yourself, do it for us and do it for the people, because there is no one that would give you a better time than this guy,” Thompson added.
After that, Kelce praised the sports broadcasters when they re-posted a video of their public plea to the Swift on Instagram on Oct. 1.
“You two are something else,” the two-time Super Bowl champ wrote in the comments. “I owe you big time!!”
Andrews later joked that she’s “the new Bumble,” referring to the dating app, when she was asked about “setting up” Kelce and Swift during an Oct. 17 appearance on “TODAY.”
“Travis had gone to the ‘Eras Tour.’ I guess he wanted to meet her — he made a bracelet with his phone number on it. Cute!” she said. “They didn’t meet up. He made a plea on his podcast that he’d like to meet her. So I saw it, I’m a huge fan of his, (I) work with him.”
Andrews, who welcomed a son, Mack, via surrogate with her husband Jarret Stoll this past summer, recalled receiving a baby gift “out of the blue” from Kelce, and knew he was a standup guy for Swift.
“I was just like, ‘Check, check and check,’” Andrews said.
Just a few days prior to her appearance on “TODAY” Kelce and Swift confirmed their romance when they were seen holding hands while out together in New York City.
Swift has attended five Chiefs games so far this season, including Sunday’s upset 27-19 loss to the Packers in a snowy clash.
She was seen arriving at Lambeau Field with her new bestie Brittany Mahomes, who’s married to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Lyndsay Bell, the wife of Chiefs tight end Blake Bell.
The 12-time Grammy winner, who is on a break from her “Eras Tour,” has been spending a lot of time in Kansas City, and the couple is reportedly planning on enjoying the holidays together with their families.
