Frank the Tank has arrived. Will Ferrell crashed a University of Southern California frat party to guest DJ while visiting his son at school.
The actor, 56, got behind the DJ booth (much like his “Old School” character Frank the Tank) and clapped his hands to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” at a Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity tailgate party. He even wore headphones and sported a backward USC red cap.
Students cheered him on as he got into the music, per a TikTok video. His music gig took place ahead of the football game against the University of Arizona Wildcats during Trojan Family Weekend.
The “Barbie” actor graduated from the school in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in sports information. He returned in 2017 to deliver the commencement speech to that year’s graduating class.
The “Anchorman” actor and his wife, Viveca Paulin, are parents of sons Magnus, 19, Mattias, 16, and Axel, 13. According to LinkedIn, their eldest son appears to go to the university.
In 2015, the “Saturday Night Live” alum joked that fatherhood was like “running a prison.”
“What happens with three boys is you end up barking out orders like, ‘Upstairs now!’ ‘Brush teeth!’ ‘Lights out!’” he told People at the time. “There is so much chaos you can’t really take the time to articulate.”
The actor, who joked he rarely feels like a bad-cop dad, has been married to Paulin, 54, since 2000.
“Those rare moments where I lose my temper and I really become a dad, I often think, oh, if anyone was a fly on the wall, they’d be like, ‘Will Ferrell is not a funny father! He’s way too strict.’”
Years earlier, he told the outlet that his parenting advice would be to “talk to your children, at least once a week.”
He joked: “If you’ve got time, do it two or three times a week, but otherwise, I find the times where I let weeks and weeks go by without talking to my children, that adds up.”
