Travis Kelce “felt terrible” after seeing Taylor Swift talking with his dad, Ed, at the Chiefs-Broncos game on Thursday.
During the latest installment of his “New Heights” podcast, Travis and his brother, Eagles Center Jason Kelce, explained why they were nervous for Swift’s one-on-one with their father.
“If you were watching the game you saw something momentous happen, which was Taylor Swift talking to Ed Kelce,” Jason said of his younger brother’s rumored girlfriend.
“Yeah, Taylor talking to dad, you already know, you know Dad like I know dad,” Travis quipped, to which Jason added: “Which is he shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift.”
The All-Pro center couldn’t contain his laughter, while Travis continued: “This is a terrifying conversation and I felt terrible for Taylor for being in this.”
The siblings explainted that someone talking to their mother, Donna Kelce, is “delightful” and a much different experience than a conversation with Ed.
“If you see dad talking to anybody and you can’t hear what’s happening, who knows where that conversation is going.”
That’s when Travis put an end to the roast of Ed.
“We can’t keep kicking dad just because we enjoy doing it, man,” Travis said. “Our dad is the best f–king dad in the world. He is a great converser or conversator, however you want to put it.
“This is where Jason gets his storytelling and a lot of his charisma. We’re saying this just because we love to rag on the big guy.”
Jason agreed.
“It was nice because mom has been getting quite a bit of the spotlight, so it was cool to see dad up there on the Jumbotron or on the TV for a little bit,” said the Eagles veteran.
Swift, who wore a WEAR by Erin Andrews Chiefs jacket at the game, was featured on the “Thursday Night Football” on Prime broadcast talking and laughing with Ed — and at one point hugged the Kelce family patriarch.
The “Cruel Summer” singer was also photographed standing in the suite with Ed, Donna and Brittany Matthews, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“You can just see in this picture, all he is doing is just absolutely pumping her up,” Travis said, referring to his dad talking with Swift.
“He’s started to listen to her music a little more, he’s started doing some stuff.”
The NFL stars continued to joke about Ed.
“Bless his heart,” Jason said, laughing: “What is he saying?”
“Has he stolen her music from the library?” Travis jokingly asked.
“He’s probably saying, ‘I’ve taken all of your CDs out at the local library and I’ve started to burn them into my computer,’” Jason said, adding, that “92 percenters enjoyed seeing dad sitting next to Taylor as much as we did.”
Later in the episode, Travis thanked his dad “for not making me look bad” to the mega popstar.
Kelce and Swift — who’ve been linked since August after the All-Pro tight end shot his shot with the singer on his podcast — stepped out together for dinner at Waverly Inn in New York on Sunday.
They were also seen leaving the “Saturday Night Live” afterparty, and were photographed holding hands together on both occasions.
