Erykah Badu shades Beyonce country alum, asks Jay-Z to help

She really kicked up a bey’s nest.

Erykah Badu pleaded with Jay-Z to help call off several angry Beyoncé fans after Badu, 53, seemingly shaded Beyoncé’s new album cover on social media.

“To Jay Z. Say somethin Jay,” Badu wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “You gone let this woman and these bees do this to me??”

The social media strife between the two singers came after the “Next Life” singer shared a photo of the alternate cover for the “Single Ladies” songstress‘ upcoming album “Act II: Cowboy Carter” on her Instagram Story with the simple, yet shady caption: “hmmm.”

In the photo, the Grammy winner, 42, poses completely nude covered with a red, white and blue banner with “act ii Beyoncé” on it — a tribute to her cousin Angie.

While it is unclear what exactly set Badu off — some suspected that it’s because Beyoncé beaded her hair in the same fashion as the “Window Seat” singer — fans are defending Queen Bey.

“You deserve the lashings you getting right now Auntie. That’s all I’m gonna say,” one fan posted on X.

“This woman!? You mean his wife? BEYONCÉ,” another person slammed.

“He’s gonna turn a blind eye to this tweet like you’ve turned a blind eye to logic,” commented a third fan next to a GIF of Stevie Wonder also rocking beaded hair. “How can she steal something that you haven’t invented ma’am.”

Others, meanwhile, attempted to support Badu.

“You was def on that mood board,” laughed one user.

“No shade, at least I’m not alone for seeing ‘Window Seat’ in the craft,” a second fan defended.

Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z have responded to the post.

This is the second time that Badu has shaded the “Halo” singer for allegedly copying her style.

In August 2023, the “In Love With You Singer” took to Instagram to slam Beyoncé over the large-brimmed hats she wore during her international “Renaissance” tour.

“Hmm,” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram Story of Beyoncé wearing a metallic hat. “I guess I’m everybody stylist.”

The snarky comment came a day after Badu — who has worn an identical hat for years — wrote “I’m flattered” on a Bey post.

Beyoncé’s eighth studio album is set to hit airwaves on March 29. The origins of the LP were “born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed,” she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday.

“But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive,” the singer continued in her lengthy post. “It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

The singer used her the opposition to her new songs “to propel past the limitations that were put on me.”

She concluded: “This ain’t a Country album. This is a ‘Beyoncé’ album.”
